When Dreams Come True! {Our BIG Christmas Tree Reveal}

♫ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… eeeeveryyywhere you gooooo! ♫

This is truly one of my favorite times of the year! And one of my favorite pastimes is decorating the Christmas tree. We put on Christmas music (I like to sing, in case you couldn’t tell) and turn off the tv. As we carefully unwrap each tissue covered ornament, we reminisce about the memories of each and every treasure. Places we’ve been, friends who thought of us, and loved ones who have gone on before.

Though it may be cold outside, the joy of decorating our Christmas tree always warms my heart!

So, when Balsam Hill asked if I would like to review one of their amazing trees, my eyes lit up like the beautiful lights on our tree! I chose the Scotch Pine from their Classics Collection. I got the 7½ foot pre-lit tree and was blown away when we got her all set up! Its fullness has such a warm rustic charm that goes so perfectly with our style! And the little lights were so beautiful… they were berry shaped!! So now that you know the skinny on our ‘Dreamy’ tree… let’s get to lookin’ at this beauty!!

The theme of our tree this year is ‘DREAM’. I found our ‘dream’ ornament after Christmas last year 50% off… little did I know how appropriate it would be to hang on the tree this year.

Some people dream of winning the lottery, others dream of a genie who would grant them three wishes. For me, my dream is a little less tangible. My dream is to create a life of sustainability, where I am able to work from home and we can start a family! This year, I took a huge leap of faith to go after that dream.

As many of you know, I am a writer by nature, a former news reporter, and Emmy Award winner, so it was only natural that I combine my love for Home & DIY projects with my God-given talent of words. Thus, Vintage News Junkie was born in July of 2013.

My mom gave me this beautiful ornament to commemorate the year I went after my dream.

This little blog has blessed me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. And while I can’t say my dream has completely come true. I CAN say I am well on my way and that’s a gift that simply can’t be topped!

Christmas Presents in Old Wooden Wagon {Vintage Decor} #Holiday #Christmas

But enough about me, let’s talk about this little big ‘ol tree! I dressed her up with burlap to bring home the rustic look we were going for.

Christmas Decor: Old Wooden Wagon #Christmas #Holiday

A vintage wooden wagon houses an old galvanaized bucket and lots of sparkly gifts! Who says you can’t mix rustic and glitter??

In fact, I brought all that rustic glam together with the selection of ornaments on our tree… like the Sparkly Burlap Flower I made from an old vintage ornament! (It’s in the center on the top row!)

An old wooden sled and a pair of ice skates provide the proper backdrop for our beautiful tree… propped against three old chippy doors that the hubs hinged together. And with a sled and ice skates, I just had to sprinkle a little snow glitter all around!!

I opted for some simple grapevine wreaths on the doors, as to not take away from the tree!

And, of course, wrapping paper and bows to seal the deal! I love the neutral pallet with just enough burgundy to ’tis the season!

So as you and yours decorate your tree this year, remember that anything is possible! Your life may seem a little rough around the edges, a little rustic perhaps, but nothing says you can’t throw in a little sparkle, a little glitter snow along the way.
